Answer: The wireless Bluetooth technology included in Datamax-O'Neil printers, such as the Datamax-O'Neil 4t 4" thermal slip printer, has increased the reliability and ease that transactions can be printed from Bluetooth enabled wireless devices. On rare occasions though, the Bluetooth signal can get confused from all the other wireless technologies it encounters throughout the day, especially in an urban environment. In such cases, although the handheld computer is sending a transaction for printing, the Datamax-O'Neil 4t printer fails to pick up on the signal and print. Fortunately, the solution is simple:

  1. Undo the latch at the front of the printer, and open the printer cover.
  2. Locate the blue Bluetooth button, which should flash a blue light approximately every 1-5 seconds. Press this button once to disable the Bluetooth wireless signal. The printer will beep and the light will cease flashing.
  3. After 10 seconds, press this Bluetooth button once again to turn the Bluetooth wireless signal back on. The printer should beep once again and the blue light will resume flashing. Close the printer's lid and resume operations.
