Introduction
In the wholesale distribution industry, Truck Load Sheets, also known as Truck Par Levels, are critical tools for maintaining accurate, efficient, and reliable inventory on delivery vehicles. They ensure that each truck is stocked with the correct mix and quantities of products needed to support customer orders, route sales, and on-demand replenishment while minimizing excess inventory.
A mobile or truck Load Sheet is a standardized inventory list that defines the products and quantities that should be carried on a delivery or route sales truck. It is used to guide initial loading, daily replenishment, and periodic inventory verification. Load Sheets help maintain consistency across routes, simplify warehouse picking, and improve visibility into the inventory on each truck.
With Load Sheets, wholesale distributors can:
- Ensure delivery trucks are properly stocked to fulfill customer demand
- Support route sales and emergency or add-on orders
- Reduce stockouts and lost sales opportunities
- Control inventory investment and reduce shrinkage and waste
- Improve warehouse picking accuracy and loading efficiency
- Maintain accountability through standardized truck inventory
By consistently using Load Sheets with well-defined par levels, wholesale distributors can improve service levels, streamline operations, and maintain better control over mobile inventory across their fleet.
